We all know or live with someone who is handicapped or elderly. |
Unfortunately, anyone, at anytime, can become handicapped or disabled. And as we age, it becomes more difficult to get around. This can make daily activities like showers, cooking, mobility around your home, near impossible. It can be hard on the entire household. There are alternatives such as, assisted living centers, nursing homes, or rest homes. But if given the choice, everyone would choose to live at home.
DiaDot Disability Solutions
will modify your home to help you or the person you live with become more
independent. The extent of the modifications will vary, and are based on
an individual's needs. There are recommended specifications
regarding sizes and layout. You can find more information
regarding ADA compliant specifications HERE

When you're ready to modify your home, we want to help! |
| The old way to do this type of renovation was to remove all restrictive
doorways and delete doors.
Cut down all counter top heights in the kitchen and bathrooms. Remove and discard base cabinets around sinks. Give up the use of all wall cabinets, and any closet or shelf storage above 48". Install industrial, metal grab bars. These methods restricted the number of potential buyers when the house was ready to be resold, in addition, having everything shortened, and opened, or deleted, was not so convenient for the non-handicapped members of the house. |
