After closing the shower curtain, you can use a hand shower to take a seated shower. If desired, you can close the tub drain to let the tub fill enough for you to soak your feet and lower legs while you are showering. Drain the tub and reverse the process to exit, sliding across the seat to the outside of the tub. If the transfer bench is used this way, you will be able to perform the transfer and the seated shower. If you wish to stand, even briefly, while in the tub enclosure, you should have one or more grab bars mounted so you have a secure handhold while standing.
