  - Cabinet Style -

The difference between framed cabinets and frame less cabinets is easy to determine.

Framed - with the door off or open you can see wood pieces around the opening
of the cabinet box. This wood is the frame and it creates a "lip" or "over hang"
around the cabinet opening. The cabinet door is hinged to this frame.

Frame less - with the door off or open you can see the finished edge of the cabinet box.
There is no "lip" or "over hang" around the cabinet opening.
The cabinet door is hinged to the side of the cabinet box.

The three most common types of cabinets are:

Frame/overlay - when standing back and looking at cabinets,
you see a frame around the cabinet opening, behind the door.
The edges of the door are overlaying the opening in the frame.

Frame/inset - when standing back and looking at cabinets,
you see a frame around the cabinet opening, and around the door.
The door face is flush with the frame face.

Frameless - when standing back and looking at cabinets,
you see only doors with minimal space between them..
